The main contact for matters related to the ASMA Management Plan is the United States, the only permanently resident operator at the South Pole, and the country that plays the lead role in coordinating day-to-day activities within the Area.

US science at the South Pole is coordinated by the Office of Polar Programs of the National Science Foundation, which administers the United States Antarctic Program.
